How does the backup sensor turn on?
Due to the power being tapped into the parking light, the unit is only activated when the car is in reverse. Once you place the vehicle in drive, the it is deactivated.
How does a parking sensor compare to a camera unit?
Camera units are GREAT and we recommend that if you can afford them, that this is a GREAT option for you. However, we do not recommend that you only have a camera system. Here is why: Remember, most accidents happen because the driver is not paying attention, and since a camera will NOT warn you audibly if an object is behind the vehicle, it will not be as effective in this situation. The camera is best used with a sensor system to inform the driver what is behind the vehicle after the audible back-up sensor notified the driver that there was an object.
